We are a highly specialized boutique sports law firm based in Portugal, focusing on all things legal in the world of sports. Team

Luís Cassiano Neves
Name a function in the Sports industry, Luís has done it. From high-profile CAS cases and multi-million player contracts, to managing ailing historical Portuguese clubs and leading an aspiring Angolan team on a pan-African Champions League journey, Luís is one of the most experienced sports industry professionals.

With a degree in law from Lisbon University and an LLM in Sports Law from Nottingham University, Luís has 20 years’ experience working with clubs, federations, individual athletes and corporate players.

Besides earnings caps for the Portugal u23 rugby team, Luís is a specialist in employment contracts, major sponsorship agreements, player transfer deals, regulatory compliance and club & sports property acquisitions. He is a widely recognized as one of the leading experts in sports law in Portugal and at international level.

Matilde Costa Dias
Matilde learnt the sports law ropes from CAS arbitrator Rui Botica Santos, before heading off to Barcelona to hone her skills at Pinto Ruiz & Del Valle. Her volleyball skills came in handy when challenging opponents without physical contact at numerous Court of Arbitration for Sport hearings.

Matilde has degree in law from the Catholic University of Lisbon, and a master’s in International and Comparative Sports Law. She has a number of articles published, and has recently started to pass on the sports law knowledge baton, lecturing for the International Sports Law Master of Real Madrid, Universidad Europea.

Matilde brings the (much needed) feminine touch to a mostly boy’s game. She is part of a new breed of women who combine excellence in sports law with a strong academic and sporting background.

Gabriel Eguinoa
Gabriel grew up on a healthy diet of Brasileirão (top-flight Brazilian football) and Pro Evolution Soccer. He brings trans-Atlantic knowledge to 14 Sports Law with European qualifications, having completed an LLM in International Sports Law at Madrid’s ISDE.

A contracts and litigation specialist, Gabriel has participated in over 50 disputes before CAS and FIFA, with a record that rivals some of the boxing world’s greats. 

Having honed his skills in Porto with the 14 Sports Law team, Gabriel is currently based in Belo Horiznte, Brazil, where he supports the firm’s clients in their South American business, as well as being the contact point for local clients.

Kosmas Mitsios
As a Greek football fan, Kosmas is as passionate in the stands as he is cold-blooded in the courtroom. Having completed his legal training in with an LLM at ISDE Madrid, he started his professional experience at the top, with Bichara & Motta, in Rio de Janeiro. 

Having tried basketball, then football, and finally law, Kosmas is an expert in all matters related to player and coach contracts, as well as dispute resolution and sports arbitration. 

He heads the recently opened Greece office for 14 Sports Law.

Aakash Batra
Aakash is a Final-year student of Law, pursuing B.A LL.B (Hons.) degree from Symbiosis Law School, Pune – Symbiosis International University, India; and simultaneously a Company Secretaries Professional Candidate, having cleared two out of the three stages of the Company Secretaries Course offered centrally by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), in affiliation to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.

Being someone who cherishes the beauty of Sports and the power of Law, he has very recently kickstarted his Sports Law career as a Trainee with 14 Sports Law, a Portuguese Boutique Law Firm, with the Litigation & Arbitration Department, which provides legal advice to various stakeholders in the sports industry across the world.

Aakash is the Co-founder of Sports Law and Policy Review Reporter (SLPRR), an open-access-digital platform to facilitate academic research and abridge the jurisprudential lacunae in the discipline of Sports Law, which has been consistently ranked amongst the top 25 Sports Law Blogs around the world,garnering an audience base of over 10k readers. He is also a Co-founder and Host at Khel Radio Podcast,an all-things-sports podcast for tracking various sporting events around the world. Furthermore, he is a published author with over 15 publications in reputed National as well as International Legal Blogs and Journals.

Moreover, as a sportsperson, he is a national level (U19) football player, who has led his School, College, and State Teams as the Captain and has also previously participated in reputed tournaments such as the Subroto International Football Cup (U17) & Delhi League – A Division (Senior). Aakash is also highly intrigued by Technology, Fintech, and Capital Markets, being a Retail Individual Investor in various secondary markets across India & USA. In a nutshell, he is a growth minded individual striving to constantly seek new experiences, learn holistically, and to push himself to greater heights mentally, physically and spiritually.
